How do I treat tapeworm in my dog?Updated 5 days ago

Tapeworms are typically treated using a worming product that contains **praziquantel**.

Common tapeworm treatments include:

* Drontal Allwormer Tablets

* Milbemax Allwormer Tablets

* Paragard Allwormer Tablets

* Endogard Allwormer Tablets

For most tapeworm infections, a single treatment is effective. Adult dogs should then continue on a regular worming schedule, typically every **3 months**.

The correct dose depends on your dog's body weight and the product being used. Always weigh your dog and follow the dosing instructions on the product label.

If your dog has tapeworms caused by fleas, effective flea control is also important to help prevent reinfection.

Some less common tapeworm species, such as **Spirometra** and **Hydatid Tapeworm**, may require different treatment protocols or more frequent worming. If these infections are suspected, seek veterinary advice.

If you are unsure which worming product is suitable for your dog, speak with your veterinarian.
